Join us in 21 days of prayer beginning on Monday, January 6th!
Connect Family: We need space to disconnect from worldly stresses and problems. Prayer gives us that space, valuing God’s presence, His wisdom and His timing. Instead of acting first before turning to God, prayer should be our first response, not a last resort. Prayer is not about a religious formula; it’s about a relationship with God through faith in Jesus. So, let’s grow our prayer lives in 2025! Let’s tap into His power! Let’s PRAY FIRST!

21 Days of Prayer
DAY 1
Date: January 6, 2025
Prayer Prompt: Divine Connection: God, how is our relationship?
Scripture Reading: John 15:4-5; James 4:8
Description: God is our perfect, heavenly Father, and He desires close connection with you. Start the new year by strengthening your connection to God through prayer, valuing His Word and putting the words of Jesus into practice. Of all the voices you listen to, let God’s voice be the One that matters most. So, honestly, how is your relationship with God?
Sample Prayer: Heavenly Father, I want more of You and I long to know Your love deep in my heart. Change my heart, Lord God, so that I can stay connected to You like a healthy branch is to a healthy tree. Please help me to recognize and listen to Your voice above all other voices. Thank You, Father, and I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
DAY 2
Date: January 7, 2025
Prayer Prompt: Relational connection: How can I better connect myself to a group of believers?
Scripture Reading: Acts 2:42-47; Hebrews 10:24-25
Description: There are no perfect families, and there are no perfect churches. But from the very beginning (Acts 2:42-47), the church was a strongly knit community of bold believers in Jesus’ mission. Relational connection is a priority in Jesus’ Kingdom. Make this the year you step deeper into relational connection with God’s family, the church. Serve, worship, study, fellowship, pray, have fun! – all with one another in Christ.
Sample Prayer:Thank You, God, that I am not meant to walk through this life alone. Thank You, that You are always with me and that you’ve put in my heart the need for community. I pray Lord, that You will fill my path with Christ followers who I will deeply and genuinely connect with. Help me to be relationally vulnerable with flawed people, like I am flawed. Help me to prioritize what You prioritize. I can’t wait to see what You do, God! I pray this is the wonderful name of Jesus – amen!
DAY 3
Date: January 8, 2025
Prayer Prompt: Scripture: God, I want to grow in Your Word
Scripture Reading: Psalm 119:11; 2 Timothy 3:16-17
Description: At Connect we value biblical authority. We don’t want to just read the Bible; we want to put God’s Word into action. So, how are you doing with knowing God’s Word and putting Jesus’ teachings into practice? Get connected to a Bible reading plan that works for you, like The Bible Recap, or find another one. Remember, while knowledge is good, it can also lead to pride/arrogance/a “puffed up” mind. Use biblical knowledge to better love God and love others. Also, knowing God’s Word gives you confidence to disciple others.
Sample Prayer: Sovereign God, I thank You that I have access to Your Word, Your promises, Your truth! I invite You to change my heart and my mind as I spend time with You, reading what You have revealed. Help me to understand Your will for my life more fully. I am here, Lord, I want to know You! I love you! In the name of our Savior and Lord, Amen.
DAY 4
Date: January 9, 2025
Prayer Prompt: The Lost and Disconnected
Scripture Reading: 2 Peter 3:9; Luke 19:10
Description: Picture a lost child in a shopping mall – it’s a terrifying thought! This is how we should think of people who do not trust and follow Jesus. God wants to use saved people to connect lost people to Christ, each other, and their purpose. Let’s pray for opportunities to reach the lost in our path – at school, work, in our neighborhoods and in our families. Let’s also pray for the “disconnected,” those who like the idea of following Jesus, but they aren’t connected to a local church. Pray that the disconnected will be received by a Christ-centered, Bible-believing, grace-filled, disciple-making church family.
Sample Prayer: Father God, today I lift up those who do not know You, and those who are disconnected from Your people. I pray that You will work in a powerful way in their lives, drawing them to You like only You can. I know You want none left behind. So today, Lord, make Your presence undeniable in their lives! I pray their hearts will be changed and their souls be saved today, because of the Your amazing love! I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
DAY 5
Date: January 10, 2025
Prayer Prompt: Unity in the Church Family
Scripture Reading: John 17:23; 2 Corinthians 13:11
Description: Unity starts with Jesus’ vision of a unified group of believers in John 17. With the help of the Holy Spirit, they were able to spread the gospel across racial, geographical, and socio-economic barriers. Unity requires the humility of Jesus to put the “team” before the individual. With that mindset, Connect’s impact will be exponential! So what’s keeping you from improving a relationship in the church, from being more cooperative in serving, from making peace in your family? As best as we can, let’s be unified!
Sample Prayer: Heavenly Father, I am humbled to lift up the Connect church family, asking for your blessing over us. Help me to desire what You desire (John 17). If I have a divisive spirit in me, please show me and remove it from me. If my pride is hurting the team, then, Lord, show me my sin and forgive me. Let your truth illuminate the darkness in my life. Help me to love the church the same way you do – sacrificially and lovingly. Thank you for my church family, God! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
DAY 6
Date: January 11, 2025
Prayer Prompt: Rest for the Mind and Body
Scripture Reading: Genesis 2:2-3; Psalm 4:8
Description: Who doesn’t want a good night sleep as well as a productive day? Don’t be surprised that God has the answer to both: Sabbath rest. God modeled this for you when He created the world. He actually rested from work on the seventh day! God has given you a formula of success. It was proven in Creation, and it is corporately lived out in Chic-fil-A’s “closed on Sunday” culture. Peace of mind, restful sleep and productive days are all part of God’s plan. The question is: will you implement a Sabbath-rest into your schedule, or will you continue to burn the candle at both ends?
Sample Prayer: Father God, I want to honor You with resting, but I don’t know how. Help me to release working myself into exhaustion and not taking time to rest. Help to quiet my mind, Lord, when it’s time to sleep. Help me to feel restored when I wake up. God, I release to You all the thoughts that keep my mind racing. I ask You to bring peace over my mind and body as I breathe You in and intentionally take rest. Thank You for blessing me with rest, as You Yourself have done. In the Powerful name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
DAY 7
Date: January 12, 2025
Prayer Prompt: Filled with Thanksgiving in worship!
Scripture Reading: Psalm 100
Description: What would cause the writer of Psalm 100 to shout for joy to God and worship Him with gladness and thanksgiving? It wasn’t because he was at a 5-star resort with the best cup of caffeinated coffee in his hand. It was because he knew God – His character, His creation, His promises, His history, His immensity! How well do you know God?
Think about this: If God is really GOD, and we come into His presence corporately as a church, shouldn’t your worship of God be reflected in those times of worship? Are you worried about how people around you are going to perceive your thanksgiving and your praise of God Almighty? Or are you going to “worship the Lord with gladness,” despite your own insecurities? Friend, God wants you to be joyful in song, to shout for joy to the Lord, and to come into His courts with praise! Put fear behind you this Sunday and truly worship God like He deserves to be worshiped!
Sample Prayer: Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! THANK YOU for who You are! Thank You that You are FOREVER and that Your truth never changes. Thank You for your promises that will never be broken. Thank You for saving me! Thank You for Your love that has redefined my life! Thank You that You will never leave me! And thank You that my words will never be enough - but You hear every single one of them! I love you, Lord! Thank you for loving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
