James Kuhl joined the Connect Team in July of 2009 and currently serves as our Lead Pastor. He has served in ministry since 1993 as a youth pastor, associate pastor, and worship pastor in churches in Georgia, Indiana, and NC.
James began playing guitar and singing as a middle school student and further developed in his high school years by studying music theory and jazz. He joined the jazz band in school and started a Christian rock band at church. During his college years, he traveled on a music team to church camps recruiting students for Bible college and led worship for the student body.
In his role, James is responsible for preparing and preaching the message each week from God’s Word and is responsible for the overall growth of the ministry. His role is to create a weekly worship experience that leads people to a deeper relationship with God.
James has been married to his wife Stacy since 1996. They have four children.
James is a graduate of Cincinnati Christian University with a B.S. degree in Bible and General Studies. In 2009, he completed the Perspectives of the World Christian Movement class on the certificate level. In 2012, James completed the Leadership Cabarrus program through the Cabarrus Chamber of Commerce.
